SLEEP

ASSESS, RECHARGE, AND ENHANCE.

ASSESS

  • Fast and actionable identification of sleep patterns

  • According to the CDC, being awake for 17 hours is similar to having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.05% (the level some countries use for drunk driving violations)*. Learn how to escape that cycle and build your personalized sleep prescription.

*Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (2020, April 1). Risks from not getting enough sleep: Impaired performance.

RECHARGE

  • Unlock higher quality sleep every night.

  • If you don’t recover properly, you are making yourself more susceptible to injury, putting your ability to stay on duty at risk.

ENHANCE

  • Your body temperature correlates with your circadian rhythm; if you’re in an environment where you can’t cool off, you will have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.

  • Get actionable feedback on your sleep habits — so you know how to make smarter decisions for your sleep and health.

Upgrade your sleep. Enhance your life.

Improve Decision-Making

Scientists now even equate sleep deprivation to being intoxicated—you can essentially become impaired to a point where you appear and act "drunk" due to sleeplessness. This serious lack of mental coordination can not only hurt performance, but it can also lead to a costly mental misstep when each moment counts.

Reduce Injury Risk

For many First Responders, physical tasks are typically performed under high stress situations with little to no warning. These assignments usually include lifting, climbing, carrying, dragging, pushing, and pulling in unfamiliar and unpredictable environments all while drained from a long shift. In order to properly manage these physical situations, performance relies on the restorative properties only sleep can provide.

Sleep, specifically non-REM or deep sleep is when the body produces human growth hormone and effectively repairs any micro-tears so muscle recovery can occur. Without enough quality, deep sleep, the blood supply does not shift to muscle repair/growth as efficiently and recovery is compromised.

Improve Reaction Time

When you have fractions of a second to react or make a decision, it's important to be mentally sound. Without sleep, the mind isn't able to easily consolidate memories (recall actions from the day before) or absorb new knowledge (adjust to a new opponent).

Sleep Boosts Immunity

Despite the physicality, grueling shift work, and demanding environments First Responders endure, availability for their families is essential. The benefits of quality sleep can not be overstated, especially when it comes to keeping First Responders healthy. This is why it is critical to get deep sleep due to its restorative powers, including strengthening the immune system.

When our bodies are well-rested, they’re able to replenish glycogen stores, increase human growth hormone (HGH), raise testosterone levels, reduce inflammation, and boost motor skill development, along with an abundance of other benefits.
